The PULSE@MassChallenge Events Coordinator is a great opportunity for a purpose-driven, resourceful, and organized events professional.

  • Massachusetts as the world-wide “hub” for digital health startups and their collaborators. We convene events and host networking opportunities for startups, investors, industry champions, and other stakeholders in the community and develop partner relationships across the world

Core Responsibilities:

  • Recommend and execute highly engaging and outstanding events that support major PULSE@MassChallenge campaigns and ongoing engagements, including key events like:
    • Accelerator – help showcase PULSE@MassChallenge entrepreneurs and demonstrate the quality of the PULSE@MassChallenge program
    • Corporate/Startup Collaboration – organize ongoing events that provide the partnerships team with high-quality leads for new partners
    • PULSE Finale (our awards ceremony) – help celebrate PULSE@MassChallenge entrepreneurs and its community, raise funding, and inspire continued community engagement at our largest event of the year
    • PULSECHECKs – bring the digital health community together once a month with dynamic programming
  • Work closely with the marketing team to design experiences that dazzle and engage PULSE@MassChallenge entrepreneurs and the broader innovation community
  • Own extensive logistics and details that ensure successful events
  • Closely coordinate with PULSE@MassChallenge team members, including the partnerships team, community team, operating team, and marketing team to ensure the right community members participate
  • Oversee the events budget and epitomize a cost-conscious approach
  • Collaborate across programs to provide input and systematize event processes

Job Description

MassChallenge Inc. is the most startup-friendly accelerator on the planet. We are U.S.-based, with programs in Boston, London, Lausanne, Jerusalem and Mexico City. We expect to expand to at least seven additional cities by 2020. We are seeking an entrepreneurial Operations Manager to support this growth.

The successful candidate has experience collecting and analyzing data, and will support our Global Operations team across all critical operational functions in a generalized capacity.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a high growth, rapidly changing organization and has the global awareness and passion for results to drive that. The candidate will thrive off the mission-driven startup environment and bring a bias toward action, a willingness to roll up his or her sleeves, and the conviction to learn by doing. This person should demonstrate passion for global startup ecosystems.


  • Global Judging: You will manage the myriad of tasks (planning, coordination, logistics) associated with global online and in-person judging rounds, working closely with our Programs’ local Operations Managers and the Global Operations team.
  • Global Curriculum: You will – in close collaboration with the Programming Directors – compile a global curriculum standard and ensure quality and consistency of content across all our Programs.
  • Documentation and Training: You will – together with our HR team – implement and maintain a training platform, work with all internal stakeholders on documentation requirements, and create easy-to-understand tutorials on a variety of topics (how-to guides, cheat sheets, screencasts, photos, videos etc.).
  • Account Manager Support: You will provide ongoing operational support to the Global Operations team, providing guidance and resources needed to execute on key activities. 


  • Grow Global Engagement: With support of the Global Operations team, promote collaboration efforts across global functional teams and growth of global “centers of excellence” to drive quality and consistency in MassChallenge’s key activity areas.
  • Resource Needs Identification: Identify gaps in current global operations and areas for improvement, to determine and analyze the biggest needs and provide recommendations for high-leverage positive impact.


  • Ideally 2-3 years of experience in a startup, strategy/management consulting, or innovative business in an operations or analytics role.
  • BS Degree in Business, Marketing, Information Management / Science or equivalent.
  • Global business interest and cultural awareness.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication, and customer relationship-building skills, across multiple levels of management.
  • Extremely organized with a high attention to detail and very strong ability to prioritize and manage time well.
  • Foreign language skills are a plus.
  • Passion for helping startups and a deep connection and interest in the global entrepreneurial community.

MassChallenge Texas seeks an experienced sales leader to manage its sales and account management team. This team is charged with securing 50% of overall goal as new revenue in addition to delivering high quality and value to existing sponsorships. Reporting to the Managing Director of MassChallenge Texas, the Director of Partnerships will have goals related to building sales and account strategies and driving team success in developing leads, closing sales, and managing client relationships in a hands-on fashion.

Our ideal candidate is comfortable with growth and has the capacity to lead and influence all levels of an organization. The candidate will want to leverage his or her demonstrated management and sales experience in a mission-driven, startup oriented company. A successful candidate will bring a dynamic leadership style and outcome-oriented approach to sales. They will also be passionate about the startup community and leading a growing team within Austin. In keeping with MassChallenge’s values, the Director of Partnerships will have the opportunity to interact with MassChallenge startups and alumni regularly to help create value for our sponsors and partners in the community. Funding for the program is provided by governments, corporations, foundations, and philanthropists.

Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership

  • Develop a team in a collaborative, team-based environment
  • Lead team-building and organizational development
  • Build an effective regional sales strategy
  • Develop and implement annual business plan in coordination with MassChallenge Texas's Managing Director and our Global Partnerships team, including projected budget and revenue forecasts

Revenue Generation

  • At least 5-7 years of professional experience preferred
  • 3-5+ years of experience in sales strongly preferred; all, or the majority, should be in the Austin region
  • Bachelor’s degree; Advanced degree typical and preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of the corporate innovation and strategy trends
  • Ability to leverage existing relationships in the greater Austin and Texas business community
