Responsibilities:

  • Design, prototype, and develop elegant solutions for our web application.

About this Role

You will be responsible for MassChallenge’s overall marketing strategy with a focus on 1) building MassChallenge’s reputation locally and globally, 2) driving applications to the programs around the world, and 3) maximizing the number of leads for the Partnerships/Development team. Responsibilities:

Major Responsibilities

  • Create and distribute content for all platforms including the MassChallenge Boston newsletter, web site, social media accounts and our blog.
  • Develop marketing materials for a variety of audiences - entrepreneurs, sponsors and the community at large.
  • Help drive traffic and awareness for MassChallenge and PULSE@MassChallenge content through effective web practices and SEO.
  • Administer the website CMS, including blog publication and minor webpage updates.
  • Manage day-to-day social media activities to increase MassChallenge Boston’s brand presence and visibility across multiple platforms, including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
  • Monitor and measure blog and social media performance and its impact on our overall marketing objectives and be proactive about spotting trends and communicating them to the team. Monitor and support PULSE activities, as needed
  • Be the internal social media expert: work cross-functionally to drive social media engagement and educate MassChallenge employees on tips and best practices.

 

Skills and Requirements

  • 2-4 years in content marketing with an understanding of how to create and distribute unique content that will resonate across audiences.

The Programming Manager is an Austin-based position. We are looking for a highly capable, self-directed individual to build our programming curriculum and assist the Director of Operations in accelerator programming operations. This includes, but is not limited to, speaker outreach and management, calendar creation and management, onboarding new program initiatives, and long-term planning. This work is directly connected to our entrepreneurs and requires people management and operations experience.

You will report to the Director of Operations and will work closely with the Director of Marketing and Managing Director to help identify the needs of the curriculum program.

Main Responsibilities:

Curriculum:

  • Identify needs of startups to help identify curriculum subject matter
  • Research, identify and recruit speakers to build our curriculum speaker program
  • Work with Director of Operations to develop speaker program calendar
  • Work with Director of Marketing to manage communication with speakers
  • Prepare background materials and develop proposed action strategies in support of MassChallenge’s efforts to advance curriculum initiatives, including sector specific, diversity efforts, and programming partner opportunities

Planning & Program Support:

  • Create projects for years 1, 2 and beyond that are (1) highly important to the success of the Texas program team and (2) to implement and scale processes
  • Evaluate the success of each programming opportunity, and overall Accelerator, using quantifiable metrics such as number of attendees, post-event surveys, NPS scores across communities
  • Scope, plan and execute multiple, often quick-turnaround projects with minimal outside assistance
    • Present ideas for programmatic projects that might facilitate MassChallenge’s  objectives.
    • Work with appropriate stakeholders, including outside partners, to undertake analysis.

Cycle Operations:

  • Develop a quarterly planning strategy for the Texas program to maximize value to startups
  • Assist in the development of an annual program plan and budget for the Texas program
  • Coordinate the Texas program-wide goals setting process each year, manage milestones, and communicate across the team
  • Proactive identification of issues from Startups, Mentors, and Speakers that need to be addressed/solved

 

Position Requirements:

  • Background in education or building curriculum preferred, but not required.
  • Track record delivering superior results, commanding respect, and assuming leadership roles.

Community & Outreach Regional Director

The primary goal of this role is to build and strengthen the community around MassChallenge Mexico while expanding its reach to LATAM in a strategic manner (starting with Colombia and Guatemala). In addition to this, the Community & Outreach Regional Director will be in charge of developing relationships with the entrepreneurship ecosystem and deliver the strategic projects that will strengthen the positioning of MC in the mid-term.

 

Main responsibilities:

 

Strategically expand the value position of MC within LATAM

 

  • Work with the Managing Director to develop a strategy to position MassChallenge in Guatemala, Colombia, and ultimately LATAM
  • Identify key stakeholders in the LATAM region starting with Colombia and Guatemala
  • Create and develop a relevant community in the region
  • Liaise with local governments, accelerators, incubators, universities, foundations and partners to develop collaboration projects

 

Lead the community team to ensure we attract the best startup talent to MassChallenge

 

  • Supervise the Community Director and its team to ensure that MassChallenge Mexico is attracting the best startups available to its acceleration program
  • Develop a strategy to attract the best startups in LATAM (Initially Colombia and Guatemala) to MCMX

 

Ensure the engagement of the community around MC

 

  • Work with the community director to ensure the creation of value to marketing nodes and other organizations that will strengthen the positioning of MC in LATAM

 

Develop and strengthen the relationships with ecosystem pillars (Government, investors, foundations & universities)

 

  • Lead and successfully execute the fundraising strategy and projects from ecosystem pillar organizations
  • Define strategic projects that will enhance the value proposition for MassChallenge and will develop new capabilities for the organization
  • Ensure the quality in the delivery of services of MC

 

Develop and deliver strategic projects that will strengthen the positioning of MC in the long run

 

  • Ensure the execution of programs with government, corporate partners, and universities.

 

Position Requirements:

 

  • At least 5 years’ experience working in the entrepreneurial ecosystem
  • Degree: MBA or Graduate degree a plus
  • The successful candidate must have consulting and project management experience
  • Strong understanding of the external market, competitive landscape, and trends that impact our business.
  • Exceptional relationship skills, negotiating skills, and the ability to build rapport with internal and external constituencies.
  • Demonstrated capability to drive substantial market growth within a compressed time frame.
